“There’s something wrong in me!”

In our generation when everything seems to be instant, we can say that getting what we want is easy. Just like if we want exposures, social media networks such as YouTube, Facebook, and Instagram are there to let the world see us. If we are hungry, we can get instant food by simply buying instant noodles, fast foods, and food at convenient stores. Even in our studies, instant answers can also be searched on Google.

But despite the fact that everything is available, instant, and easy in our generation, I know that you are still wondering about these questions: “Why is there still something wrong in me? Why do I feel empty? Why am I not contented? Why am I still not good enough when I already have a lot of things I want?”

When you feel like your life is just a complete routine starting from waking up in bed, going to school then coming back home, eating dinner, studying and doing homework, surfing the net, you still end up your day by sitting down for a while in your bed and pause, because you know that there is still something missing, there is something we cannot get in this world.

By thinking that, it’s frustrating and annoying not because we can’t accept the fact that it is true, but because it’s sad to know that on our own, we cannot solve the deepest need of our hearts. Even if we do everything to solve it, choosing the things that the world is offering to satisfy our unsatisfied life, we will still notice that our efforts are never enough. And what makes it more annoying is it’s just getting worse. We thought we will be happy, contented, and whole when we follow the ways of the world. But the harsh reality breaks our expectation. Suddenly, we realize little by little that the world where we are living is truly limited.

But you know what? I believe that there is a reason behind those “WHYs” — those questions that might appeared once or constantly in your mind which bothers you. Those questions that we know will remain unsolved by our reasonings.

As I look for an answer, I learned that we are limited and we need someone who can assure that there is hope in our limitedness — that their is already a solution and there is someone who can complete us. And as I look and search for an answers, everything just points me to Jesus — our only solution.

And for us to have Him, who is the greatest need of our life, we just need a one step humility and a sincere heart before God. A heart that acknowledges, puts trust, and is totally dependent only in Him.

In humility, we will experience contentment and satisfaction that reveals the real need of our hearts, that is to be with God and experience His presence.

When we experience His presence, we will not look for something else to satisfy us anymore, because our greatest questions in our lives are already answered. In Him, there is also acceptance and we can prove that because of what He had done for us on the cross. Despite our sins and our desire to look for wrong things in this world, He still chose to purchase us with His blood and gave us an everlasting life.

Again, being in God’s presence is a decision. If you want to be whole, fixed and live in truth, RUN to Jesus and believe that whatever we think we need is possible to those who depends, fears and has the humility before Him.

“Be wretched and mourn and weep. Let your laughter be turned to mourning and your joy to gloom. Humble yourselves before the Lord, and He will exalt you.” – James 4:9-10

“O God, you are my God; earnestly I seek you; my soul thirsts for you; my flesh faints for you, as in dry and weary land where there is no water. So I have looked upon you in the sanctuary, beholding your power and glory. Because your steadfast love is better than life, my lips will praise you.” – PSALMS 63:1-3
